First United Methodist Church of Bastrop supports boys and girls in scouting programs.
The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are very active in the FUMC community.
Girl Scout Troop 395 meets on the 4th Friday in the Youth Lodge. Their age level is from Kindergarten through 3rd grade (they have 5 Daisies (K-1st) and 3 Brownies (2-3rd). They are not seeking new members. They want to stay at that number. Troop 883 meets on the 4th Sunday of each month from 2-3:30 PM in the Youth Lodge. They have 4 ambassador level scouts. Another troop meets on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of each month at 5:00 in the Fellowship Hall. Their age level is Kindergarten through 5th grade. Currently they have 30 in the troop. Girl Scout Troop 883 meets in the Lodge every 4th Sunday from 2-3:30.
Boy Scout Troop 2010 meets in the basement of the main building every Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:00 PM. The troop generally meets every Tuesday throughout the year except when they are at summer camp (typically sometime in July), winter camp (late December/early January), or as otherwise approved by the Youth-run Patrol Leadership Council. Once a quarter, the troop meets in Fellowship Hall for a potluck dinner and Court of Honor to celebrate and recognize scouts that have advanced in rank, earned Merit Badges, or achieved some other recognition. Several Troop 2010 boys won a recycling award in the “Team Up to Clean Up Recycling Challenge ‘15” sponsored by Keep Bastrop County Beautiful. Click here and here and here f
We also support a Cub Scout pack. The point of contact is David Colter. (firstname.lastname@example.org).
