Community Concerns

We support the Bastrop area community.

The purpose of this group is to provide nurturing to those who need our loving care.
We visit nursing homes in the area at least once a month.  We provide a worship service with music, singing and offer communion.  We keep an up-to-date list of all homebound persons and visit them.  We provide meals for those unable to care for themselves.  There are special projects for the holidays.  We mail inspirational cards and notes to former members who needed to move closer to families or nursing facilities out of the area.  We acknowledge the military and college students by sending cards of encouragement.  Some of our members make phone calls, deliver Upper Room devotionals and visit hospitals.

REGULAR VISITATION SCHEDULE:

Lost Pines Nursing Home: 2nd Tuesday of every month at 10:00 a.m.
Bastrop Nursing Home: 3rd Thursday of every month at 10:30 a.m.

BASTROP UNITED METHODIST CHURCH GIVES TO PETS

First United Methodist Church of Bastrop has recently donated supplies for the Animal Shelter. Members and friends of the church are deeply interested in the well-being of the animals living here and have provided money, food, and supplies to assist the community’s efforts to give the animals a safe place while they are waiting for adoption.  The church is happy to give back to the community in a meaningful way by offering a helping hand to some of its vulnerable pets.
